Some more FIRSTS for Khale

Khale tried a few new things that I was able to catch on camera. Poor kid, I am forever taking pictures so I can keep everyone up to date with all of her explorations :)

She had her first piece of shrimp this weekend when Kaden shared with her. This kid isn't allergic to anything. She eats it all, shell fish, peanut butter, milk. She is a regular ole' garbage gut.

She also got a hold of Kaden's new game, Guitar Hero 4 Which has the entire band, and she likes to play the drums. I think she has some natural ability....LOL just kidding.

Kids school projects

Kaden had to build a pyramid for a school project. It had to have all these different rooms and some traps along with a few other things. SO this is a picture of what we came up with. It was quite the project.

But he got all the points possible!

Dad,

Here are those pictures you wanted to see of the basement.

Fall Foliage Festival

This weekend was the Fall Foliage Festival in our town. Karson and her friend rented a kayak and took it out on the river. They spend more time on the side of the river, in the bushes, than they did in the middle of the river. But it was fun to watch them figure it out. We had homemade root beer and strawberry shortcake. The girls bought bracelets. Kaden, took off with friends as soon as we got there, so I don't know what he did or where he spent his money. Good times in Bedford.

Last night, Kyle watched the baby while I had girls night out. Myself and two friends went to the Old Bedford Village Murder Mystery. You walk around a 17th century village and try to solve a mystery by asking villagers questions. It was super fun. It was nice to have a girls night out and relax. I laughed so much. Last year I went with my mom and we solved the mystery. This year, I wasn't as lucky but my friend Sam was a super sleuth. :)

The Ellingsons get political

Sarah Palin had a Political Rally over the weekend and although I don't want to offend friends or family....She is my hero. I think she is marvelous. So we went to her rally and took the kids. It was an amazing learning experience. Kaden had tons of questions. Karson said she didn't understand a whole lot but she didn't like the people screaming at her when we went inside (protesters). And Khale, slept through most of it. I would go again in a heart beat. The protesters were a bit much but what better way to explain to the kids that people are not always going to agree about things they are passionate about. We waited in line for over two and a half hours to hear Palin talk for about 15 min. We were back so far, as you can see from the pictures, that she was nothing more than a pea. But we could hear her very well and the excitement of the attendees was infectious. You may not agree with my politics but the pictures are super cute!

New House Update

The house is really coming along. They have told us only ten more days until completion. The yard is finished and looks really good. I was very happy with how the leveling turned out. My master bedroom ceiling turned out really neat. The floors go in on Monday. The kitchen is coming along as well. Kaden is so excited about the basement. He can't wait to turn it into his space. The kids already love the back yard and can't wait to play out there everyday when we move. I know we have waited a long time for this but I will tell you the next two weeks are not going to go by quick enough.
